  • Dr. Gu Tian joined the Department of Translation Studies in July, 2018. She obtained her doctorate in Chinese Studies on the reception of “the tragic” in modern Chinese literary discourse. The research experiences of Tian range from literary studies to cultural studies. She is especially interested in the discourse analysis of the interplay among different critical trends during the formation of certain literary traditions, and in the study of the literary expression of identity issues in transcultural context.
